Palmer came into Wednesday’s team for their match agains Hull City last Friday, and he impressed.
The 24-year-old helped the Owls keep a clean sheet at the KC Stadium, and Carvalhal called the full-back’s display ‘fantastic’.
“I’m happy with our defensive line,” Carvalhal said. “Liam was fantastic again. He’s very consistent.”
Palmer has had a rotational role to play this season, and he has only made 15 appearances for the Owls.
He has generally been used as a covering option, but Carvalhal seems to have full faith in the defender.
Palmer was one of three changes that Wednesday made to their back four against Hull, with Michael Turner and Joe Bennett also coming in.
Carvalhal’s tinkering with his side’s line-up certainly seemed to be effective, as they picked up an important point.
Wednesday’s 0-0 draw with Hull has kept them in the top six, with Carvalhal’s side’s next fixture coming against Rotherham United at the weekend.
