Domenico Berardi's agent has been explaining the situation surrounding his client, and was asked specifically about interest from Tottenham.
Domenico Berardi's agent has told Calciomercato that his client will not necessarily sign with Juventus at the end of the season.
Berardi plays for Sassuolo and had been part owned by Juventus until last summer, but claims he could still become a Juventus player have been downplayed by his representative.
Simone Sighedoni told Calciomercato: "It’s true, there is a kind of gentlemen’s agreement with the Bianconeri. This doesn’t mean that he will join them for sure in June. It will be up to the player to choose."
Competition for places up front could put Berardi off joining Juventus, and it is likely he will have other offers on the table.
He was quizzed specifically about interest from two teams, including one from the Premier League, although he was keener to talk up Inter interest.
He said: "Inter and Tottenham after him? All I can say is that we received many offers, from Italy and from abroad. He has always been an Inter fan, but I can’t confirm their interest as we are only in March."
Berardi is just 21, and has often been thought off as a striker but this season he has been playing out on the wing. He has netted six league goals in Serie A matches, providing three assists.
The odds may be in favour of Berardi remaining in Italy, where he made his name as a teenager by netting four goals against AC Milan, but he could be a good fit at Tottenham due to his ability to play out wide.
This would allow him to play alongside Harry Kane, but the key factor as any would be if he was willing to and able to buy into the fitness and pressing game required by Mauricio Pochettino.
