The German managed a goal and an assist in the loss to Manchester United at the weekend.
The German has been in scintillating form for Arsene Wenger’s side this season, currently leading the Premier League assist charts by some distance.
He was the star of the show in Sunday’s 3-2 loss to Manchester United as well, setting up one and scoring the other in that hugely disappointing defeat.
He has however often gone missing in the big games for his side, as he did in the loss to Barcelona last week, and Nicholas says it is a concern for his old side.
“I love Ozil, he’s a fantastic silky player but he doesn’t do it often enough in big games for Arsenal,” he told Soccer Saturday.
“He does it for the German national side, he’s done it for Real Madrid but he’s not quite hit those hits for Arsenal and it’s a concern.”
“But I still feel he’s got a pass and everyone else can work into that.”
If Ozil is to prove himself in the big games for the Arsenal, their next away game could be the perfect chance to do so.
They soon travel to rivals Tottenham Hotspur, a side currently above them in the table and mounting a much stronger title challenge than the Gunners.
The clash at White Hart Lane is looking to be crucial to both sides' title hopes, and Ozil putting in a star display and securing his side all three points could dispel any doubts about him once and for all.
