Report: Newcastle United fail to agree new deal with Rolando Aarons

Newcastle United have apparently failed to agree terms with Rolando Aarons, with the winger now likely to leave.

According to the Daily Mirror, Newcastle United have failed to agree a new deal with Rolando Aarons.

The youngster’s contract is due to expire at the end of the season, but Newcastle had been keen to keep him at St. James’ Park.

Earlier this season, Aarons stated that he wanted to extend his stay on Tyneside in the Chronicle, but the Mirror now suggested that he is likely to leave the North East club.

The 20-year-old has reportedly rejected the new offer that was handed to him, and his future is now up in the air.

The Mirror say that Arsenal are interested in signing Aarons, and that would be a major blow for Steve McClaren’s side.

There were very high hopes for Aarons’ future at St. James’ Park, although injury has halted his progress so far.

The starlet made his breakthrough at the start of the 2014/15 campaign, but he has failed to really kick on.

More recently, Aarons has been forced to play at left-back, rather than his more favoured wing position, and he hasn’t looked entirely comfortable.
