Villa took on the Potters at the Britannia Stadium on Saturday, but they could not get the victory that they so desperately needed.
Stoke scored twice through Mirko Arnautovic, and although Villa did pull a goal back through Leandro Bacuna late on they left the Potteries empty handed.
The defeat extends Villa’s poor run of form, and means that they are now eight points adrift of safety with only 11 games left to play.
Parlour feels that Villa’s season should now be entirely dedicated to making sure that they can bounce back from relegation quickly.
"It looks like Aston Villa are doomed," he said. "It's going to be tough for them because no one expects them to stay up now. I think it's all about rebuilding the club for next season and trying to see who's going to be there and who's moving on."
Villa have never before been relegated from the Premier League, but only a miracle will save them now.
The Claret and Blues have won just three matches all season and they have shown very little fight in the relegation battle.
Villa’s next match comes against Everton on Tuesday evening.
