Rangers defender James Tavernier has told The Daily Record that his side can win the Scottish Cup this season.
The Gers will take on Dundee at Ibrox in Glasgow in the quarter-finals of the prestigious cup competition on Saturday afternoon.
“We can win the Scottish Cup,” the 24-year-old right-back told The Daily Record. “We’re only a couple of games away from the final now. It’s a home tie and we’re looking forward to it.”
Rangers have the strongest squad in the Scottish Championship and have some very good players.
The fact that Mark Warburton’s side have reached as far as the quarter-finals of the Scottish Cup suggests that they do have the strength to go all the way.
In a knockout competition anything is possible, and as Tavernier says, the Gers are only a couple of matches away from the final.
With teams such as Celtic and Hibernian still in the Scottish Cup, it will not be easy for Rangers to win it, but the fans should remain optimistic.
Rangers are at the top of the Scottish Championship table at the moment with 66 points from 26 matches.
The Gers are 11 points clear of Hibernian, who are currently second in the standings.
