HITC Sport understands Gideon Adu-Perpah is attracting rival interest
Newcastle United are in danger of losing one of their brightest prospects as they struggle to agree a deal with Gideon Adu-Perpah, HITC Sport understands.
The 17-year-old joined the North East outfit last summer on a free transfer after he left Manchester City's academy.
The Ghana-born starlet is a left-back but can also play in central defence, and his progress with Newcastle has been outstanding - progressing to the Under-21s and he has also trained with Steve McClaren's first-team.
But now with his current deal expiring in the summer, talks have faltered and HITC Sport understands that Newcastle could lose him this summer and they would only be due minor compensation.
Tottenham, Leicester, Aston Villa, West Ham and even their local rivals Sunderland have all been alerted to the issues and are ready to try and tempt him away from St James' Park.
Letting him depart and seeing him move to a rival side would be unthinkable, and late interest could yet spark the club into getting a deal over the line.
