Micky Quinn names six Liverpool players who Klopp could sell this summer

Jurgen Klopp is set for a big clear out at Liverpool this summer.

Speaking to talkSPORT, Micky Quinn has named six players who Jurgen Klopp could look to sell this summer, as he rebuilds the Liverpool squad in his own view.

Quinn said: “I really think he’ll [Benteke] be gone in the summer. I think Mignolet will go. They need to buy a new keeper, they need a new left-back and I think Lucas will go, too. Lucas has been a great pro there, but is he going to win you the league? I don’t think so. Some of the midfield players, too. Lallana hasn’t done it this season and he cost a fortune, Joe Allen and James Milner could even go.”

Christian Benteke, Simon Mignolet, Lucas, Joe Allen, Adam Lallana and James Milner have all been named by Liverpool fan Quinn as players not good enough for the Reds.

Aside from Benteke - who has been in and out of the team under Klopp - the other five players have all featured fairly consistently under the head coach.

Mignolet is first-choice goalkeeper, and even signed a new contract earlier this year, and James Milner has captained the team on occasion when Jordan Henderson has been out of action.

However, Quinn does not believe they are good enough for the Merseyside giants, and he expects them all to be sold this summer.

Klopp has struggled to deal with the players he inherited at Anfield, and his work has been a success given the strength of the current playing squad.

It is expected that he will undergo a major restructuring of the squad in the summer, and selling these six players would be one step on the path to improving Liverpool.
