Arsenal fans react on Twitter to Theo Walcott's performance against Manchester United

Arsenal's title hopes took a major blow as they lost 3-2 to Manchester United.

Arsenal slipped to a 3-2 defeat away at Manchester United on Sunday afternoon, meaning their Premier League title hopes are fading.

The Gunners went into the game five points behind leaders Leicester City, and that's still the situation at the top after a disappointing performance at Old Trafford.

United's new teenage sensation Marcus Rashford scored two quickfire goals to put the Red Devils 2-0 up, but ex-United striker Danny Welbeck scored against his former club to get Arsenal back in the game.

However, Rashford then set up Ander Herrera to make it 3-1, and whilst Mesut Ozil did pull one back to make it 3-2, Arsenal couldn't find an equaliser - and Tottenham's 2-1 win over Swansea City means that Arsene Wenger's side are now three points behind their North London rivals.

Many Arsenal players disappointed on the day - Alexis Sanchez and Aaron Ramsey were particularly disappointing - but fans directed their frustrations at Theo Walcott.

The 26-year-old forward had just 17 touches of the ball on Sunday, before being replaced by Olivier Giroud just past the hour mark following a completely anonymous display.

Supporters took to Twitter to slam Walcott's performance, suggesting that the England international - who has scored just six goals this season - hasn't developed at all since signing from Southampton ten years ago.

Fans stated that this was Walcott's worst ever display for Arsenal, and even hoped that he would be sold to a mega-rich Chinese club to bring in players who have the quality to win the Premier League title.

Here are some of the reactions after Walcott's no-show against Manchester United...
