Sunderland face Crystal Palace on Tuesday.
Sunderland boss Sam Allardyce has taken to social networking site Twitter to tell supporters that preparation is underway for his side’s clash with Crystal Palace on Tuesday.
The Black Cats head in to the fixture having suffered a narrow 1-0 defeat at West Ham United last time out.
With Swansea City, Norwich City and Aston Villa also losing over the weekend, the Premier League table down the bottom has not changed and Allardyce will know there is still all to play for.
Taking to Twitter to provide a buoyant message to supporters, Allardyce says the side are back in the North East and preparing for the visit of Alan Pardew’s Crystal Palace.
Back in beautiful Sunderland! The preparation for Tuesday’s game with Palace is underway…see you all at the @StadiumOfLight— Sam Allardyce (@OfficialBigSam) 28 de febrero de 2016
The Eagles are currently on a wretched run of form and were beaten 3-2 by West Bromwich Albion on Saturday, going 3-0 down within the first 30 minutes of the encounter.
Nine points separates the two teams at present, and Sunderland know a victory over their opponents could see them leap out of the bottom three and also drag Palace in to the relegation mix.
Allardyce will have a rough idea of which games he deems winnable in his bid to guide Sunderland to safety and a home match against an out-of-form Palace will definitely be on the list.
The Wearside club won the corresponding fixture 1-0 at Selhurst Park earlier in the campaign, and goal-scorer that day Jermain Defoe will be confident of adding to his tally again this Tuesday.
