Southampton lost 2-1 to Chelsea on Saturday afternoon.

Southampton's impressive run of six games unbeaten came to an end on Saturday, as they lost 2-1 to Chelsea at St. Mary's Stadium.

The Saints had dropped just two points from a possible 18 heading into the game, and hadn't even conceded a goal in that spell as Ronald Koeman's side shot up the Premier League table.

It looked like Southampton were on course for another win after Shane Long capitalised on Baba Rahman's error to beat Thibaut Courtois, but second half goals from Cesc Fabregas and Branislav Ivanovic handed Chelsea all three points on the South Coast.

Koeman's side were somewhat unfortunate, and fans took to Twitter after the game in order to praise the performances of Jordy Clasie and Oriol Romeu.

Clasie, who reunited with his former Feyenoord boss Koeman over the summer, had endured a stop-start time in the Premier League early on, but has now become a fixture of the Saints first-team, and fans even suggested that he is just as good as his predecessor in midfield, Morgan Schneiderlin.

Another signing from last summer, Oriol Romeu, took on his former club Chelsea and earned great praise from Southampton fans, as they were impressed with the midfield partnership of Clasie and Romeu, suggesting that the suspended Victor Wanyama may not have much of a role in the side anymore.

Here are some of the reactions from Southampton fans to Clasie and Romeu's performances on Saturday afternoon...
