Manchester United beat Arsenal 3-2 at Old Trafford earlier today.
Rio Ferdinand has taken a series of swipes at Arsenal on social media site Twitter, after Arsene Wenger’s side failed to beat Manchester United at Old Trafford earlier today.
United defeated Arsenal 3-2 despite naming a team that was packed with inexperienced players.
Marcus Rashford stole the show on his first Premier League start, as he scored twice before Ander Herrera sealed the three points.
Arsenal failed to ever get going in the match and Ferdinand, who used to play for the Red Devils, has questioned the Gunners’ desire to win the Premier League and their lack of leaders.
Do arsenal actually want to win this league....lowest standard for years...the time is now for the Gunners...— Rio Ferdinand (@rioferdy5) February 28, 2016
Arsenals major faliure in recent years is not investing in LEADERS. People that grasp the moment, that set the right tone at the given moment— Rio Ferdinand (@rioferdy5) February 28, 2016
Arsenal looked at the teamsheet and must have thought 'we got this, no probs'!!— Rio Ferdinand (@rioferdy5) February 28, 2016
Arsenal’s defeat against United has left them looking like outsiders in the race for the title.
Both Leicester City and Tottenham Hotspur have built up healthy advantages over Wenger’s side and there are serious questions being asked of the Frenchman now.
Arsenal have seemingly been plagued by the same problems for years, and if they fail to lift the Premier League this year it will be considered a major missed opportunity.
The Gunners can ill afford any more slip ups, with their next match coming against Swansea City on Wednesday evening.
