Wolverhampton Wanderers beat Derby County 2-1 at the weekend.

Former Wolverhampton Wanderers goalkeeper Matt Murray has praised Kenny Jackett’s side on social networking site Twitter for beating Derby County 2-1 at the weekend.

Wolves bounced back from a seven-match winless run to beat the Rams yesterday, and Murray has encouraged his former side to build on their most recent victory.

Wolves may now have little chance of making it into the play-offs this season, but they do need to get back on track.

Jackett is still under serious pressure at the Midlands side, with the calls for him to be sacked growing louder in recent weeks.

Wolves were tipped as one of the favourites for promotion before the season started, but they have failed to live up to expectations and currently sit in 13th place in the Championship table.

Their performance against Derby was one of their stronger showings this season, though, and it offers some encouragement for the weeks ahead.

Wolves scored twice through George Saville in the contest, with Chris Martin's goal from a free-kick for Derby proving to be of little worth.

Wolves’ next match comes against promotion chasing Middlesbrough on Friday evening and a victory could take them into the top half.
