Martin Keown says Remi Garde would love to have Marko Arnautovic

Aston Villa

The pundit has been discussing Aston Villa's lack of quality - and the Stoke man's abundance of it.

Martin Keown believes Aston Villa head coach Remi Garde would love to have a player as good as Stoke City's Marko Arnautovic, according to Match of the Day.

Arnautovic scored Stoke's second goal against Villa at the Britannia Stadium.

And Keown told the BBC highlights show on Saturday night: "Remi Garde would love to have a player of this quality. He’s the nearest thing you’ve got to Mark Hughes in the Stoke team. He’s got an arrogance about him as well."

Meanwhile, fellow pundit Graeme Le Saux added his name to the list of observers questioning Villa's hunger and desire:

"For Aston Villa, they look like they’re defeated every game. The minimum you can expect is a siege mentality but they don’t seem to be able to galvanise themselves."

While Villa continue to struggle, Stoke are back up to an impressive eight place in the Premier League table.

The Potters are only four points off fifth and eight off fourth, looking set for a strong end to the season.

Stoke can't afford another poor run of form, however, but look relatively comfortable when it comes to finishing in the top half. In another world, if Garde had the quality any manager craves within his squad, Aston Villa might have had more to play for at this stage of the campaign.
