Wolverhampton Wanderers beat Derby County 2-1 yesterday.

Wolverhampton Wanderers' players have celebrated on Twitter after they beat Derby County 2-1 this weekend.

Wolves picked up the three points on Saturday afternoon at Molineux as they put in one of their finest performances of the season.

Kenny Jackett’s side took the lead when George Saville struck with a well placed finish in the first half.

They were pegged back when Chris Martin scored for the visitors, but Wolves continued to press and they got their reward when Saville tucked home in the closing stages.

The victory was a huge one for everyone at the club as it ended a six match winless run, and Wolves' players were quick to post positive messages on social media after the game.

Jackett is still under serious pressure, after Wolves’ recent run of poor form, but yesterday’s victory has lifted spirits slightly.

The Midlands side are now in 13th place in the Championship table, but they are still 12 points back from the play-off places with time running out.

Wolves’ fixture list does not get any easier, as their next match comes against promotion chasing Middlesbrough.
