The former Tottenham winger highlighted a negative that was ultimately a positive on Sunday afternoon.
However, that ultimately led to the positive of the north London side showing 'great character' and securing three points when not at their peak.
Anderton also hailed the Tottenham crowd and wasn't overstating it to emphasise the 'massive' nature of the 2-1 win over Swansea.
Tough game today.. Lads weren't at their best but kept going.. Great character shown and the crowd were brilliant.. Massive win.. #COYS— Darren Anderton (@DarrenAnderton) February 28, 2016
A winning mentality
The fact Spurs won despite a below-par display says everything you need to know about the mentality of the current side.
For the sake of superstition, let's not say it's a title-winning trait - but it's certainly a very strong advantage in a title race. Winning while not at your best is something Sir Alex Ferguson's Manchester United were famous for. Jose Mourinho's Chelsea did the same last season.
Tottenham did what they needed to do against Swansea City and now go into key clashes against West Ham United and Arsenal with real momentum.
