Liverpool and Manchester City face off this weekend in the first domestic cup final of the season.
The Capital One Cup may have once been the tournament in which top flight managers fielded their second strings, but such is the strength in depth at clubs these days that the cream almost invariably rises to the top regardless.
This is a wonderful opportunity for both managers; two men at opposite ends of their time at their current clubs.
Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has the perfect chance to secure some early silverware after arriving at Anfield at the end of last year, while City manager Manuel Pellegrini has the opportunity to seal a cup in what he knows is his final season at the Etihad Stadium.
Pep Guardiola will be in the City dugout for the next campaign, so do not be surprised if Pellegrini goes out all guns blazing.
Both sides have the players to make the difference this afternoon but Klopp proved recently that he has the beating of this impressive City side.
