Joey Barton has used social media to suggest that young players should be given more opportunities in the first team at Premier League clubs.
The Burnley midfielder was commenting after Manchester United had recorded a 3-2 victory over Arsenal in the Premier League in a match where Marcus Rashford netted a quick-fire double for Louis van Gaal's men.
His two strikes made it four in the space of three days after he netted twice in the Europa League triumph over FC Midtjylland.
It remains to be seen whether Rashford will stay in the starting lineup when Anthony Martial recovers from injury, but Barton feels that more youth players should be blooded in the senior squad on a regular basis.
What a week for the lad. A double on European debut and Domestic debuts. Shows if given a chance our kids can play.— Joseph Barton (@Joey7Barton) February 28, 2016
Fosu-Mensah was signed from Ajax in 2014 and he did not look out of place after replacing Marcos Rojo, who looks set to join United's growing injury list.
Weir, who has captained the reserve team at Old Trafford, was sent on for the final 60 seconds, but he was able to help his team get over the line as they made it three victories in all competitions in a week.
