Burnley defeated Bolton Wanderers 2-1 at the Macron Stadium.
Soccer Saturday pundit Neil Mellor has taken to social media site Twitter to comment on Burnley’s 2-1 win over Lancashire rivals Bolton Wanderers, insisting the result was harsh on the hosts.
The two teams are currently fighting at opposite ends of the Championship table, with Bolton currently in the bottom three while Burnley are up there chasing automatic promotion.
As a result of Hull City’s 0-0 draw with Sheffield Wednesday on Friday night, Burnley knew that a victory over their rivals at the Macron Stadium would take them to the top of the Championship table.
For long spells an away win appeared unlikely, and then their chances grew slimmer as Neil Lennon’s Bolton took a deserved lead midway through the second half as they made their dominance pay.
However, aside from their good work collectively, Burnley are now in a position to have individual quality to call upon when things are quite working out and Andre Gray provided the spark.
The talented striker netted twice in the latter stages of the game, condemning Bolton to another disappointing home defeat firing Sean Dyche’s men to the top of the table.

Neil Mellor was co-commentating on the game for Soccer Saturday, and his reaction on Twitter illustrates the disappointment for Bolton boss Neil Lennon after his side played ever so well.
The Trotters’ position is starting to look desperate, while Burnley on the other hand are now 11 league games unbeaten as the Clarets begin to hit their stride in their quest for automatic promotion.
Next up for Burnley is another Lancashire derby with Blackburn Rovers at Turf Moor, while Bolton face Steve Evans’ Leeds United at Elland Road.
