The summer signing from Nottingham Forest scored the winner v Sunderland today.
West Ham United defeated Sunderland this afternoon in a game which saw Sam Allardyce return to the club.
The result was fair on the balance of play, with The Hammers the better team on the day.
The goal in the 1-0 win came from winger Michail Antonio. The former Nottingham Forest star has found himself a regular in the team in recent weeks after struggling to force his way into the starting XI after his initial arrival at the Boleyn Ground.
But he bent in a cute left-foot finish before pulling out a Homer Simpson celebration as West Ham picked up a hard-fought win.
"Michail probably dreamed about the Premier League for five or six years and then he had to wait for his chance.
"Now he's become a player of massive importance to this club. He is enjoying it and we are enjoying it too. He deserves it all.
"He deserves it for his work rate, his attitude and how he is on a daily basis."
Antonio has now scored five goals for West Ham and has been a regular in the first-team since the turn of the year.
After initially struggling to earn first-team football after his move from Forest he has now become a vital member of the West Ham first-team and hopefully he can continue that form for the rest of the season.
