The Gunners don’t have the best of records at United in recent league meetings, yet the two teams have changed somewhat over the past 18 months with Old Trafford no longer being a place to fear.
Making his prediction with William Hill Betting, Savage feels Arsenal are out of the Champions League following their midweek defeat to Barcelona but backs them to bounce back in the league.
“Historically Arsenal haven’t got a great record at Old Trafford in the league. They haven’t won their in eight, losing six and drawing two,” Savage explained.
“Losing to Barcelona was a blow, but they still have a chance of winning the league. They have to win at Old Trafford, and I think they will. Both teams to score in an Arsenal win.”
The Gunners head into the clash knowing that the European adventures are all-but over for this season after crashing to a 2-0 home defeat to a Lionel Messi-inspired Barcelona last Tuesday
But that now allows Arsene Wenger’s side to focus on both the league and the FA Cup, two trophies they have a realistic shot at winning if they can reproduce their top form between now and May.
United are without Wayne Rooney but they still have talented individuals such as Juan Mata in their ranks.
Arsenal won the corresponding fixture earlier in the campaign by a resounding three-goal margin, and their pace on the counterattack could be pivotal to their chances of picking up all three points.
