The Spanish striker was with Rangers for six years.
It will hopefully mark a return to the glory days at Ibrox.
Rangers have had to come back up the tables after their financial irregularities saw them drop all the way down to the bottom rung of Scottish professional football.
This week one of the former stars of the more grand Rangers teams has been sharing his memories of that success with another.
Spanish striker Nacho Novo sent this Instagram to Scottish international defender Alan Hutton:
Novo spent six years at Rangers, where he became a cult icon at the club. Aston Villa defender Hutton came through the ranks at Rangers before leaving Ibrox for Tottenham Hotspur in 2008.
The pair were part of a successful Ranger side, although Novo made it to the UEFA Cup final but Hutton had already departed in 2008.
This was a different time for Rangers and the future looks like being bright under Warburton.
The likes of Novo or Hutton will no doubt be hoping that Rangers can get back to the standard they were at when they were at the club.
