Come on Arsenal: David Gold's unusual Twitter reaction to West Ham win

David Gold

The West Ham co-chairman has posted in support of the Gunners after beating Sunderland!

David Gold admitted West Ham United were not at their best against Sunderland on Saturday afternoon.

However, when taking to Twitter, the Hammers co-chairman was delighted to be up to fifth and, of course, praised match-winner Michail Antonio.

Antonio netted in the first half for West Ham to secure a 1-0 win against Sunderland and former Hammers boss Sam Allardyce.

But, in an unusual move, Gold also tweeted a rarely heard phrase at Upton Park: 'come on Arsenal.'

Gold is referring to Arsenal's visit of Manchester United on Sunday afternoon. If the Gunners can beat Man United, it will keep West Ham four points clear of Louis van Gaal's men.

West Ham's hopes of a top-four spot, meanwhile, are still alive after this weekend's results. Slaven Bilic's side would need Manchester City to pick up a few more bad results but that isn't exactly outside the realms of possibility right now.

Fifth would be an incredible finish for West Ham, however, and that explains Gold's support for Arsenal on this occasion...
