Steve Evans says Leeds United trio could return against Brighton

Leeds United manager Steve Evans says these three players could return to the first-team squad for the fixture against Brighton & Hove Albion.

Leeds United manager Steve Evans has said in his pre-match press conference that the trio of Chris Wood, Mustapha Carayol and Liam Bridcutt could all return to the first-team squad for the Championship fixture against Brighton & Hove Albion.

Each player has been absent for different amounts of time, but they look set to give Evans a boost ahead of what is a testing trip to the Amex Stadium on Monday night.

The return of striker Wood would prove most significant for Evans, with the former Leicester City man having scored eight times for the club this season.

The Yorkshire giants have also avoided defeat in the last eight games in which the 24-year-old has featured, and it appears no coincidence that Leeds have failed to win any of their four league fixtures since he has been sidelined.

Evans have also suggested that on-loan winger Carayol could play some part in their next game after saying that the 27-year-old - who has been missing since February 6 - would return to training on Friday.

Bridcutt has only missed one match - the 1-1 draw with Fulham on Tuesday night - but he will be involved in the travelling group for the trip to his former club.
