Simon Mignolet explains where Liverpool must improve

Simon Mignolet wants Liverpool to create chances.

Liverpool must improve their efficiency in front of goal moving forward, goalkeeper Simon Mignolet has told the club’s official website.

The Reds progressed in the Europa League in midweek, as they beat Augsburg 1-0 at Anfield, courtesy of a penalty from James Milner.

It was a frustrating evening for the Merseyside outfit, though, as they created a number of chances throughout the game but failed to convert them and make the scoreline a more comfortable one.

Mignolet has called for Liverpool to improve their efficiency in front of goal and add some more goals to their tally this season.

“We need to be more efficient,” he told “We want to score more goals; the first step to doing that is creating chances.

“That’s what we did, so that’s a positive and we’ll take that forward into the next few games, to try to score more goals.”

If there is one man that will be key to the side improving their goalscoring tally, it is sure to be Daniel Sturridge.

The striker has been sorely missed once again this season, but he is now fully fit and showing just why Jurgen Klopp is so keen to have him in his side on a long-term basis.

If he could come in and grab some goals, with Philippe Coutinho also returning and impressing, then it would be a serious boost to their hopes of finishing in the top six this season.
