The 1860 Munich star has been one of their better players over two poor seasons.
Reports in Germany this morning are suggesting that Newcastle United remain interested in an Austrian striker currently plying his trade in the 2.Bundesliga.
The player in question is 1860 Munich striker Rubin Okotie.
A report from My Heimat in Germany is claiming that Newcastle remain keen on the player, who has been one of the few shining lights in a difficult term at the Allianz Arena.
Newcastle are keen along with CSKA Moscow, Mainz and Hamburg SV - with the player seemingly set to leave the club this summer.
The powerful Pakistani-born forward has scored eight goals for 1860 this season - which does not sound like a lot.
But he scored 16 for the club last season and in both terms they have been battling relegation to the third-tier of German football.
This season they sit in the relegation zone once again and if they were to succumb to the drop Okotie would be easy pickings for any interested party, including Newcastle United.
Newcastle currently have a few striking options, with Aleksandar Mitrovic, Papiss Cisse and yoze Perez just three examples but another would be a wise addition from the club.
