Report explains Levy's summer transfer plans as Spurs target Napoli's Lorenzo Insigne

Napoli Fans at night

Tottenham are reportedly looking to sign Napoli star Lorenzo Insigne this summer.

According to the Daily Mirror, Tottenham Hotspur chairman Daniel Levy will sanction deals for 'one or two' big transfers this summer, with Napoli's Lorenzo Insigne a target.

Spurs are into the last 16 of the Europa League after a 3-0 win over Italian side Fiorentina on Thursday night, sending them through 4-1 on aggregate.

Now, the attention turns back to the Premier League this weekend, as second-placed Spurs sit two points behind league leaders Leicester City ahead of Sunday's clash with Swansea City.

A title win would be incredible for Tottenham, but with a top four place virtually secured already, Champions League football is on the horizon, and manager Mauricio Pochettino should have a healthy transfer budget to work with this summer, even if he doesn't need huge reinforcements.

Now, The Mirror report that chairman Daniel Levy is willing to go through with 'one or two' big deals this summer so Spurs are competitive in the Champions League - and Pochettino is keen on Napoli forward Lorenzo Insigne.

Insigne, 24, has hit 12 goals and 11 assists for Napoli this season, and is expected to have a huge summer with the Italian national team at the European Championships in France.

A skilful, pacey forward who can play out wide or behind a striker, Insigne can score goals as well as create chances for his team-mates, and he would certainly provide Tottenham with the additional attacking firepower they need to build on his season, with a deal costing around £18m according to the report.
