Rangers teenager sends heartfelt message to Rashford after stunning Manchester United debut

Rangers midfielder Jordan Thompson was on the books of Manchester United before his move to the Gers.

Rangers midfielder Jordan Thompson has taken to social networking site Twitter to send a passionate message to Marcus Rashford.

Rashford, who is just 18 years of age and plays as a striker, enjoyed a dream debut for Manchester United on Thursday evening.

The teenager was initially named as a substitute for the Europa League round of 32 second-leg tie against FC Midtjylland at Old Trafford.

However, a hamstring injury picked by Anthony Martial during warm-up saw the youngster drafted into the Red Devils’ starting lineup

Rashford had a debut to remember, as he scored twice and played a key role in the 5-1 win for Louis van Gaal’s side.

Thompson, who is 19 years of age and plays as a midfielder, has given his reaction to Rashford’s heroics on Twitter.

The Rangers youngster was on the books of United from 2011 until 2015 and played with Rashford for the youth team.

Rangers are at the top of the Scottish Championship table at the moment with 63 points from 25 matches, eight points clear of second-placed Hibernian.
