Manchester United defender is hopeful he could still have a meaningful role to play this season.
They are now into the Europa League last 16, and with a Champions League place at stake for the winner, there is a lot to play for, especially with their Premier League top four hopes slipping away from them.
For one United player it matters more than most, Luke Shaw.
The England international has been out of action since their first European game of the season, an away loss to PSV win which he suffered a horrific leg break.
Expected to be out all season, there remains a small beacon of hope he could return for the final few games... and as he was keen to point out on Twitter, the Europa League Final should United get there.
Closer to the final, closer to my comeback— Luke Shaw (@LukeShaw23) February 25, 2016
Whether United would risk him in such circumstances is unclear, but Shaw has all the reason to push himself, with Euro 2016 not impossible, and a potential FA Cup Final if his side could get there too.
The one man who may have something to say about it? Teenager full-back Joe Riley, who looked composed against the Danes and showed he is a talent worth keeping an eye on.
