Liverpool fans react on Twitter to Jordan Henderson’s performance v Augsburg

Liverpool secured a 1-0 victory over Augsburg on Thursday evening.

Liverpool secured their passage to the next round of the Europa League on Thursday, clinching a 1-0 win over Bundesliga side Augsburg.

An early James Milner penalty was all that was needed to pick up the win, with Jurgen Klopp surely happy to have progressed despite a fair average performance.

Despite the progression to the next round of the Europa League, the best part of the game was seeing the likes of Daniel Sturridge and Philippe Coutinho get through the game without any injury troubles.

They hardly had to expend themselves, which is great news ahead of the League Cup Final against Manchester City this weekend.

Despite all the positives, the level of performance from a certain group of players was not a joy to behold.

Jordan Henderson struggled especially, with the English midfielder looking lightweight in the middle of the park alongside the far better trio of James Milner, Emre Can and Coutinho.

Henderson has not really kicked on this season in the absence of Steven Gerrard, and in this game he managed just three tackles, one shot, and an average pass completion rate of 81%.

He never looks as if he is going to take the game by the scruff of its neck, and following the victory over Augsburg, Liverpool fans reacted on Twitter to Henderson’s performance.
