Leeds United boss Steve Evans admits he would love to work with Brighton winger Anthony Knockaert

The Frenchman has been a great signing from Brighton.

Leeds United take on Brighton and Hove Albion on Monday night at the Amex Stadium on the South Coast.

The game sees them go up against one of the surprise teams in the Championship this season - as Brighton fight for promotion to the Premier League.

They had found themselves battling a poor spell of form after an electric start under Chris Houghton, but have recently picked up again.

A big part of that has been thanks to the form of Anthony Knockaert. The Frenchman has been excellent since arriving from Standard Liege in January. The former Leicester City player is exactly the type of player many Leeds fans would like to see at the club.

Steve Evans clearly agrees.

He is quoted as telling BBC West Yorkshire Sport today:

"He (Knockaert) is the type of player you'd love to work with."

Right now it is a player like Knockaert that Leeds need. Versatile, attacking, quick and with an eye for goal the former French under-21 international carries the threat that Leeds have not done all season.

Of course Evans was not suggesting a move was on the cards, merely his admiration for the 24-year-old.

But it is this sort of player that he will want to be bringing to Leeds United in the summer.
