David Hay has predicted in The Glasgow Evening Times that Leigh Griffiths can score 50 goals for Celtic this season.
The Scotland international striker has found the net 32 times in all competitions for the Bhoys so far this campaign.
Former Celtic midfielder and manager Hay believes that the 25-year-old former Wolverhampton Wanderers man could hit the 50-goal mark this term.
“If he stays fit then he absolutely can,” Hay wrote in The Glasgow Evening Times in response to a question whether Griffiths can score 50 goals this season.
“Griffiths looks like scoring every game, his confidence is sky high and is playing well enough to break all sorts of records.”
Griffiths has been in superb form this season and is arguably the best striker in the Scottish Premiership at the moment.
The Scotland international is certainly capable of adding to his current goal tally and guiding the Bhoys to the league title this campaign.
Celtic are at the top of the Scottish Premiership table at the moment with 61 points from 26 matches.
The Hoops are six points clear of Aberdeen, who are currently second in the standings and are their main challengers for the league title.
Ronny Deila’s side will take on Hamilton Academical away from home in the Scottish Premiership this evening.
