Birmingham City star Tomasz Kuszczak confirms plans to stay at the club and play in the Premier League

The Polish international has been integral to Birmingham City's season.

Birmingham City are having an excellent season under the guidance of Gary Rowett. Under a comparatively small budget to many other teams in the Championship Birmingham are in with a shout of promotion to the Premier League.

Currently they sit in seventh place, just three points behind Sheffield Wednesday in the final play-off spot, with a game in hand.

Excitement at a potential return to the top-flight, as bitter rivals Aston Villa seem on their way down, is certainly catching at St Andrews and one of their players who has been there before has been discussing his thoughts on getting back to the Premier League this week.

Polish stopper Tomasz Kuszczak told Sportowe Fakty his hopes for the season with Birmingham. He made it clear that he sees his future at the club, and in the Premier League:

"I decided to stay.

"On the other hand, money is not always enough (to move).

"I have had many opportunities to go to other countries, other leagues, maybe I would be more financially satisfied, but always chose England, I like this country.

"Besides, I want to fight for a return to the Premier League."

Kuszczak has been vital member of the Birmingham team since arriving from Wolves in the summer and the Polish international veteran is contracted to remain with the club for another season.

Birmingham fans will hope that campaign will be in the top-flight.
