Bakary Sako is close to returning to fitness for Crystal Palace.
Taking to his personal Twitter account, Bakary Sako has confirmed he is closing in on reaching full fitness again, having been out of action since the beginning of January.
One step closer to the return ... travelling with the team today thanks guys for the support ✌ #CPFC— sako bakary (@sakobakary26) February 26, 2016
Sako has had a thigh problem which has limited his impact for Palace this season, following his summer signing from Wolves.
The Malian forward scored two goals in nine games at the opening of the campaign, but an injury suffered in November has seriously limited the forward’s impact.
He has managed just 61 minutes of action since the end of November, playing against Crystal Palace in January, and then missing the next seven games in all competitions.
Sako has confirmed that he is closing in on a return, and whilst not fit for this weekend, he is travelling with the squad to the Midlands to watch the Eagles take on West Brom at the Hawthorns.
Palace have suffered in recent weeks due to their injury problems, with Sako and Yannick Bolasie especially costing the side.
They have lacked a lot of attacking threat with the duo out of action, and it is great news for the club that they are both almost ready to play again.
Bolasie came on as a substitute against Spurs in the FA Cup last weekend, and should start this weekend, with Sako just a few weeks behind his teammate in his return to action.
