Former Liverpool and Aston Villa striker Stan Collymore has explained in The Mirror what he finds appealing about Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Dele Alli.
Alli is one of the best young players in the Premier League and has been a key figure for Tottenham this season.
Collymore has been impressed with the 19-year-old midfielder’s playing style, and has outlined what he finds appealing about the England international.
“One of the things which has made Alli more appealing than many of his peers is the fact he makes a tackle, gets up and gets on with the game,” the former Nottingham Forest striker wrote in The Mirror.
“Too many players these days protest, chuck balls away and kick people when they get tackled, while Alli just sees it as part and parcel of the business.
“A lot of independent supporters have been drawn to him as well because he often has a big smile on his face.”
Alli is arguably the best teenage footballer in the Premier League at the moment. The 19-year-old has scored seven goals and created 32 chances in 24 league matches so far this season.
The Englishman has a pass accuracy of 77% and a shot accuracy of 59%, and has won 25 headers, 22 dribbles and 39 tackles.
Tottenham are second in the Premier League table at the moment with 51 points from 26 matches, just two points behind leaders Leicester City.
Spurs will take on Swansea City at White Hart Lane in the league on Sunday afternoon.
