Sheffield Wednesday boss Carlos Carvalhal raves about Hull City

Sheffield Wednesday are set to face Hull City at the weekend.

Carlos Carvalhal has told Sheffield Wednesday’s official site that Hull City are the best side in the Championship.

Wednesday are set to face Hull at the KC Stadium on Friday evening, and Carvalhal is under no illusions about the scale of the task that his side face.

Hull currently top the Championship table, and Carvalhal admits that he has been very impressed by the squad that Bruce has put together.

“They are probably the best team in the competition about everything, the quality of the players, the organisation, the coach, the time they have had with the coach and the understanding he has of the competitio,” the Portuguese boss said.

“They understand that they have a way to play, it is very clear and that is why they are in this position at the moment.

“It will be an interesting game, they are one of the more compact teams of the competition, they have one of the best defences but we have one of the best attacks so it will be interesting."

Wednesday’s task of beating Hull is made harder, as this is their third match in the space of just six days.

The relentless nature of the schedule is set to test their squad energy levels, and Carvalhal has already suggested that he will make changes tomorrow evening.

Wednesday go into the match having failed to win either of their last two matches, and their play off spot in now under pressure.

The Owls are currently in sixth place, and they have Birmingham City breathing down their neck.

Hull, meanwhile, are unbeaten in 11 matches and Bruce’s side would consolidate their spot in the automatic promotion spaces if they are able to beat Wednesday.
