Leeds, West Ham, Newcastle, Southampton and Chelsea all want to sign George Hirst, the Daily Mail reports.
The 17-year-old striker has a growing reputation in youth football, and has already played for Wednesday’s Under-21 side having progressed through the Under-18 ranks.
He has been capped at Under-17 level for England, scoring twice on his debut in a draw with Germany last week, whilst being watched by a host of Premier League scouts.
Hirst is the son of David Hirst, who scored 106 goals for the Owls in a successful career at Hillsborough, even earning England recognition.
The youngster is considered one of the brightest prospects in youth football right now, and Wednesday are facing a fight to keep him.
They can offer him a more direct route into the first-team, but four Premier League teams, as well as one Championship outfit want to sign him.
Leeds United have a serious interest in the teenage talent, along with West Ham, Newcastle, Southampton and Chelsea of the top flight.
The quintet of teams are hoping to poach the youngster away from Hillsborough, although it is not known whether any offers have yet been made to Hirst.
