Former Arsenal midfielder Ray Parlour has told Sky Sports News, broadcast on February 25 at 11.45am, that the club's star players need to perform against Manchester United.
In recent weeks, Arsenal have struggled for both results and goals in all competitions, and their latest setback at home to Barcelona in the Champions League has left the club's supporters frustrated with their performances.
On Sunday afternoon, the Gunners have the chance to redeem themselves when they travel to Old Trafford to face United, but Parlour has acknowledged that the fixture is also of huge importance to Louis van Gaal's men.
With Manchester City competing in the League Cup final, United can move to within three points of their rivals and increase the pressure in the race for a top-four place in the Premier League table.
However, Parlour has admitted that Arsenal's away form during the remainder of the campaign could be pivotal, with the game in the North-West representing the first of a number of testing trips before the middle of May.
Parlour said: "The away form of Arsenal for the rest of the season is going to be vital. They have to go to City, United, Spurs, West Ham so they have some really tough away games.
"United have got a big injury list and they need to take advantage of that. They have got to forget about Barcelona. Ozil, Sanchez, the big players have got to perform. It's always a big game when it's Arsenal versus United.
"It's a big week for United too. If they can get through in the Europa League and then beat Arsenal, suddenly they will be looking at top four. It's a huge game at the weekend, you need to beat the teams around you."
The reverse fixture earlier in the season ended in a 3-0 victory for Arsenal, who blitzed United during the early stages of the contest at the Emirates Stadium.
