The defender has impressed since joining from River Plate in the summer.
The Argentine defender has looked a decent capture by Roberto Martinez since joining from River Plate in the summer transfer window.
He has racked up 28 appearances in all competitions so far, scoring three goals in the process.
Recently he has been paired alongside Jagielka in the heart of the defence, with the duo proving a mean duo, conceding just one goal in their last five games together.
And Jagielka has praised his teammate, saying his amusing attitude is perfect for the Everton dressing room.
“He’s a nice lad and has done a fantastic job, popping up with some important goals,” he told evertonfc.com.
“He’s great to have around the place and speaks good English. The communication is what we want, so he has settled in very well for a lad coming from a different country. “
“He has taken on the English lifestyle pretty well as well, and he’s quite amusing around the place, so perfect for our changing room.”
It will now be interesting to see if Funes Mori keeps hold of his current first team place when all of Everton’s defenders are fully fit.
John Stones may have struggled this season, but many would still have him in the first team given how impressive he has been since breaking through under Martinez.
Jagielka is also something of a stalwart in the side, having added some of the defensive steel, which has been lacking since his return.
That leaves manager Martinez with a difficult decision to make, but arguably one he is happy to have nonetheless.
