Mustapha Carayol tweets past-picture of himself at Elland Road... in Middlesbrough colours

We are no closer to knowing where the Leeds loanee will be next season!

Leeds United loanee Mustapha Carayol has posted a 'throwback Thursday' picture of himself in Middlesbrough colours playing at Elland Road.

With his tweet and Instagram post, the 27-year-old used the Middlesbrough 'UTB' hashtag and the Leeds 'MOT' hashtag.

But what's interesting is the fact he could end up back in Middlesbrough colours next season - or remaining with Leeds.

Indeed, Steve Evans brought Carayol to Elland Road on loan and his long-term future could go either way. Promotion may have a bearing, with the winger likelier to leave Boro if they do go up.

That is similar to the fate of another loanee in Liam Bridcutt, of course, who is likelier to stay with Leeds next term if parent club Sunderland remain in the Premier League.

It's intriguing that Carayol's tweet shows his support for both Leeds and Middlesbrough, then, as he could well end up at either club next season.
