Mauricio Pochettino's response when asked what the turning point was for Tottenham Hotspur

Tottenham Hotspur are challenging for honours in domestic and European competition this season.

Mauricio Pochettino has told the London Evening Standard that he cannot find a single moment that was Tottenham Hotspur’s turning point this season.

Spurs are currently in the thick of a battle for the Premier League title, after far surpassing expectations this campaign.

But Pochettino feels that the process of making Tottenham title contenders was a long one, rather than simply a quick transformation.

“What was the turning point of our season? It’s not a single game or a moment. The month before the season was brilliant and perfect for us, and we used every day to build what we have today,” Pochettino said.

“It’s important to enjoy the present but also be careful for the future, to try to improve and learn every day to achieve what we want.”

When Pochettino took over at Spurs the side appeared to be sliding backwards, and there were concerns about what direction they were heading in.

However, in under two years, Pochettino has assembled one of the most talented squads in the Premier League.

Tottenham have been one of the standout teams in the top flight throughout the campaign so far, and their success has not just been limited to domestic action.

Spurs are also progressing well in the Europa League, and they are set to host Fiorentina later this evening.

Pochettino’s men picked up a 1-1 draw in Italy last week, meaning that if they are able to keep a clean sheet at White Hart Lane tonight, they will progress to the last 16 of the European competition.
