Manchester City secured a 3-1 victory over Dynamo Kyiv on Wednesday.

City all-but confirmed their passage to the next round of the Champions League, securing a 3-1 away win over Ukrainian giants Dynamo Kyiv.

Sergio Aguero opened the scoring, with David Silva doubling the lead before the end of the first-half.

Vitaliy Buyalsky pulled one back for Kyiv on the 58 minute mark, but the two-goal lead was restored in the dying moments of the game, through a Yaya Toure strike.

City looked very good in the tie, and although they were playing one of the weaker teams left in the Champions League, Manuel Pellegrini will be pleased that the passage to the next round has been almost secured already.

One player who excelled for City was Vincent Kompany, the Belgian centre-back who has been out for much of this season.

His absence has been one of the reasons listed as to why City’s season has collapsed somewhat, but he is back to full fitness now.

This performance was a return to form for the club, with Kompany marshalling the back-line excellently alongside a much improved Nicolas Otamendi.

Following the game, City fans took to Twitter to react to the performance, with many praising Kompany for his role in the victory.
