The Exeter City winger joined Forest at the same time as Cohen.
Nottingham Forest recently handed a new deal to club captain Chris Cohen. The experienced midfielder, who can also play at the back, recently returned to action with Forest after a 19 month injury absence.
After proving himself fit after several previous false starts Forest rewarded him with a new deal.
It was a move that pleased Forest fans, with Cohen a massive influence in the Forest dressing room and a huge fan favourite.
Now one of his oldest friends has been speaking about the deal.
Former Welsh international Arron Davies joined Forest from Yeovil Town the same time as Cohen made the same move.
His injury problems ended his Forest career but he is clearly pleased to see that his old team-mate and good friend has been offered a new deal at the City Ground.
He told BBC Radio Nottingham:
"I was pleased to hear he was back playing. I speak to Chris on nearly a daily basis so I know how hard he has been working to get back fit.
"It is amazing to see him fit and obviously get his new deal. Going forward it is good news for him.
"He is a very positive person. He is very forward thinking, very driven. Obviously when you first have that injury you are a little disheartened but a few days after, obviously he text me on a daily basis, he was looking forward and he was setting targets on a daily basis. I think that is a credit to himself."
Cohen has played five times for Forest since his return from injury and it seems as though his future with the club may not be as a first-team starter.
However he is now entering his testimonial year and who would begrudge him the accolade.
