Everton supporters got a look at frequently linked winger Andriy Yarmolenko last night as his Dynamo Kiev side took on Manchester City in the Champions League last 16.
Unlike most Dynamo Kiev matches, the game was broadcast live in the UK, allowing Toffees supporters to take a look at what all the fuss is about.
Everton manager Roberto Martinez refused to rule out a move for the winger in January, quoted by The Mirror, before the winger himself was quoted by SkySports earlier this month stating he would prefer to move to Everton ahead of Barcelona because he would get more playing time.
Just yesterday the Liverpool Echo published a report explaining the winger is keen on a move to the Premier League, and this was his big chance to impress.
His side were well beaten by City, losing 3-1 on home turf, with Yarmolenko playing all 90 minutes of the match out on the right wing.
While it was not a game he will remember fondly, he was more involved than any of Kiev's front free, and was one of just two players to have a shot on target against Joe Hart.
Disappointingly none of his nine crosses found a teammate, and he will have to hope for better luck at the Etihad, with City defending well.
His display still drew encouraging comments from Evertonians, here is a look at what they had to say via Twitter...
Imagine how much better yarmolenko would be in a team like Everton.— Derek Hatton (@DegsyHatton) February 24, 2016
I feel like Yarmolenko is an Everton hero despite the fact he never has it ever will play for us. Just the idea is enough #baemalenko— Joe (@_joejones99) February 24, 2016
Everton need to sign Yarmolenko in the summer, he'd smash the Prem easy— Mike Jones (@mike_jones96) February 24, 2016
