Pires really was a great player, wasn't he?
When you think of some of the best wingers to have ever graced the Premier League there are a few names that come to mind: David Beckham, Cristiano Ronaldo and Ryan Giggs.
Bobby signed for the Gunners back in 2000 for £6 million from Marseille but with the pressure of having to replace Marc Overmars and getting use to how physical the Premier League was, the Frenchman struggled.
But thankfully he managed to find some form and ended up becoming blooming brilliant, winning two Premier League titles, three FA Cups and a runners-up Champions League medal.
Despite leaving the Gunners almost a decade ago, Pires still holds a fond place in Arsenal fans' hearts but you'll be surprised to know that he's only just retired!
When the 42-year-old made the announcement earlier today, Gunners fans took to social media to share their thoughts on Bobby:

Pires retires. One of my all time favs. Alongside Cesc but we won't go into that— Joe (@Shady_afc) February 25, 2016
Lets be honest, Robert Pires has been retired for a while now. One of the Premier League greats however. Unreal player back in the day. #AFC— Alex Batt (@AlexBatt) February 25, 2016
