Tottenham Hotspur star Erik Lamela comments on Arsenal's Alexis Sanchez ahead of international meeting

Argentina take on Chile at the end of next month.

Argentine winger Erik Lamela has finally been showing his talents this season for Tottenham Hotspur. The big money former Roma man had struggled in his first two seasons for the club but he has become a top player in the Spurs first-team under compatriot Mauricio Pochettino.

He will hope his form will have him back in regular selection for the Argentina national team. They have a game upcoming against Chile this month. It will be their first meeting with their South American rivals since they lost on penalties in the Copa America final.

That day it was Alexis Sanchez who was the hero. The Arsenal player is of course a domestic rival of Lamela - playing for the arch nemesis Arsenal.

This week Lamela has been speaking to Chilean paper La Tercera about his time at Spurs and the upcoming fixture with Chile. He also had this to say about his Arsenal rival:

"They are a very strong team, but we have a rematch after the Copa America. Hopefully we can beat them.

"Yes (we want revenge). We lost a final that we could have won. I do not know if you call it revenge, but we want to beat them in the next game.

"Everyone knows the kind of player that Alexis is, and what he can give. I'm not surprised."

Sanchez has had a difficult season for his excellent standards. Injuries saw him take two months out of the season and he has only scored once since the turn of the year.

But he always seems to thrive in Chilean colours and will hope to get one over on his Tottenham rival Lamela at the end of next month.
