Arsenal were beaten 2-0 by Barcelona in the Champions League, with their star players failing to deliver.
Much was expected of expensive duo Mesut Ozil and Alexis Sanchez, who cost a combined £80 million, and had hoped to at least threaten the Barcelona defence.
Arsene Wenger's side were lacklustre, high on effort but lacking poise in the final third, and were undone by a counter attack and a late penalty.
Ozil in particular has been excellent this season, providing 17 assists, closing in on a Premier League record.
Last night he did not exert his usual control over the game, touching the ball only 57 times, and completing 78 per cent of his passes.
He did manage to create two chances, but did not manage any efforts on goal, and the game was reminiscent of the disappointing displays he often turned in during his first two seasons at the club.
Arsenal held only 34 per cent of possession - at home - which was a contributing factor to Ozil's lack of impact, and really, it is hard to say any Gunners player came out of the match with a great deal of credit.
Ozil's non-display gave further ammunition to his detractors who argue he is not a player who steps up in big games. Here is a look at how rivals supporters from Tottenham and Chelsea reacted to his performance...
