Tottenham Hotspur have received mixed injury news ahead of the crucial Europa League last-32 second leg against Fiorentina on Thursday, with the Evening Standard reporting that Mousa Dembele is set to miss out whilst Erik Lamela could return.
However, the Argentine may have to reshuffle his pack for the return fixture, with Belgian midfielder Dembele unlikely to be risked after having to come off in the FA Cup fifth-round defeat to Crystal Palace at the weekend with a groin injury.
That will come as a big blow to Spurs, as the former Fulham man has been a key player for the title challengers this season, making 26 appearances in all competitions and adding steel and enterprise to the midfield.
However, the Standard adds that there could be some good news to offset that loss, as Lamela could be fit enough to return after missing the last two matches with illness.
After a slow start to his Spurs career, the Argentine winger has become a key player for the North London side and is enjoying his most profitable season to date in England, having scored eight times in 30 matches.
Tottenham's home defeat at the hands of Palace is a blow to their hopes of winning a trophy, but leaves the club to concentrate on what is shaping up to possibly be one of their most successful seasons in recent years.
Pochettino's side are favourites to progress to the Europa League last 16, and are just two points off the top of the Premier League table with 12 games remaining, ahead of rivals Arsenal on goal difference.
