A selection of the latest stories in the media involving Liverpool Football Club this Wednesday morning.
Liverpool may have a game beforehand, but a lot of the stories surrounding the club are building up to the side's meeting with Manchester City in the League Cup final at Wembley on Sunday.
Philippe Coutinho has mentioned that the side have to think about their Europa League game against Augsburg first - with the tie delicately poised at 0-0 ahead of their second leg at Anfield - but the build-up to Sunday's final is well underway.
Coutinho has had a season which has been blighted by a couple of hamstring injuries, but he is hoping to achieve a dream by winning silverware, and hopes to stay injury free for the remainder of the season.
He's quoted in the Liverpool Echo: “We have a good chance to win the trophy and we have to give everything to take this opportunity. Everyone knows it is very important.
"I am happy because I am back playing.
“I hope I can give my best between now and the end of the season and help my team-mates.”
It hasn't been the easiest of times for goalkeeper Simon Mignolet - who has been heavily scrutinised for much of his time at Anfield, but he did pull of heroics in the penalty shoot-out against Stoke City in the semi-final.
He has told Sky Sports that Liverpool have got to look at their own performance on the big occasion, and he will prepare normally for the game, saying they get information about penalty takers before the game.
"It gives everybody a confidence boost when you win your first trophy for a long time.
"In every game there can be a penalty taken and you always prepare in the same way. It's not just if there's going to be a shoot-out.
"You analyse the teams and we obviously get a lot of information here from the analysts and the coaching staff which will help."
