The former Leeds United hero congratulated the youngster on his fabulous goal.
Leeds United fans were given a treat last night as Lewis Cook smashed home an incredible goal in the 1-1 draw with Fulham at Elland Road.
He picked up the ball from 35-yards out and, with no run up, hammered a strike that dipped and swerved beyond Andy Lonergan and into the back of the Fulham net.
It was Cook's first goal in front of the home supporters at his boyhood club and only his second goal for the club overall - a shocking return for a player so talented.
He is clearly happy with the goal as he took to Instagram earlier today to post this image of him celebrating the wonderful strike:
He was not the only one impressed. This message even got a response from an old Leeds favourite.
Dominic Matteo sent him this message on Twitter after seeing the Instagram post:
Former Scotland international Matteo spent four years at Leeds United at the turn of the century. He is fondly remembered by Leeds fans for his performances in the Champions League semi-final run - including a goal-scoring performance against Italian giants AC Milan.
Hopefully Cook can go on to enjoy similar nights at Elland Road at a higher standard.
